Sodium Picosulphate 10 mg Tablet is a stimulant laxative used to treat constipation and prepare the bowel before medical procedures such as colonoscopy. It works by stimulating the nerves in the intestinal wall, which increases bowel movements and helps facilitate smoother stool passage. The action is typically seen within 6–12 hours after administration, making it suitable for short-term relief of occasional constipation.
Sodium Picosulphate is generally well tolerated. Some users may experience abdominal cramps, bloating, or diarrhea. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to fluid and electrolyte imbalance. Rare allergic reactions such as skin rash or swelling may occur and should be reported immediately.
