Risadine Solution contains Risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic that works by modulating dopamine (D2) and serotonin (5-HT2) receptors in the brain. This dual receptor action helps control symptoms of psychosis, mood instability, aggression, and behavioral disturbances. The oral solution form offers a flexible dosing option for children, elderly patients, and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets. Risperidone is known for its efficacy in reducing both positive symptoms (hallucinations, delusions) and negative symptoms (social withdrawal, apathy) in schizophrenia and related disorders, while also being used in the management of bipolar disorder and irritability associated with autism.

About the Product

Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, weight gain, increased appetite, and mild gastrointestinal disturbances. Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) such as tremors or rigidity may occur at higher doses. Other possible effects include insomnia, dry mouth, constipation, and mild anxiety. Rare but serious side effects include tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and significant metabolic changes such as hyperglycemia or dyslipidemia. Risadine Solution is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar mania, and behavioral disturbances in dementia. Risadine Solution should be used only under medical supervision with careful dose titration. Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided unless directed by a healthcare professional to prevent withdrawal or symptom rebound. Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disease, seizure disorders, renal or hepatic impairment, and a history of EPS or tardive dyskinesia.
