Waveflu Suspension is an antiviral medication containing Oseltamivir Phosphate, a potent agent used to treat and prevent influenza (flu). This medication works by inhibiting the action of the neuraminidase enzyme, which is crucial for the replication of the influenza virus. By preventing the virus from spreading in the respiratory tract, Waveflu helps reduce the severity and duration of flu symptoms when taken within the first 48 hours of symptom onset. It is effective against both influenza A and B viruses, offering crucial support during flu season or in cases of outbreaks.
Waveflu is commonly prescribed to both adults and children for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated influenza in those who have had symptoms for no more than two days. It is also used as a preventive measure in individuals who have been exposed to the virus but have not yet developed symptoms, such as in a household setting or during flu outbreaks in communities.
