Norfloxacin 200mg + Tinidazole 300mg Tablet is a synergistic antimicrobial combination designed for the effective treatment of mixed bacterial and protozoal infections. Norfloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis, making it highly effective against gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria. Tinidazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent, works by disrupting the DNA structure of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Together, they offer broad-spectrum coverage ideal for gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract infections, including diarrhea, dysentery, and gynecological infections.
Patients may experience mild side effects such as nausea, metallic taste, headache, or dizziness. Rarely, it may cause allergic reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort, or photosensitivity. If any severe or persistent symptoms occur, medical advice should be sought promptly.
This combination is indicated in the treatment of acute or chronic diarrhea, dysentery, urinary tract infections, bacterial vaginosis, and other mixed infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria and protozoa.
Take the medication exactly as directed by the physician. Avoid alcohol during and at least 72 hours after treatment due to the risk of disulfiram-like reactions from Tinidazole. Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy unless deemed essential. Caution is advised in patients with neurological disorders or liver impairment.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from moisture and sunlight. Keep the tablets out of reach of children.
