Nepastep Eye Drops contain Nepafenac (0.1% w/v), a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in ophthalmology to relieve pain and inflammation in the eyes. Nepafenac is a prodrug that converts into its active form in ocular tissues, where it works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), thus reducing the production of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation and discomfort.
It helps in the management of eye pain, redness, swelling, and inflammation associated with cataract surgery, eye injuries, or other inflammatory eye conditions. By targeting the source of inflammation, it promotes healing and enhances patient comfort during recovery.
Common side effects may include temporary eye irritation, blurred vision, or a mild burning sensation after application. Rarely, it may cause eye dryness, headache, or increased intraocular pressure.
Indicated for patients recovering from cataract surgery or suffering from inflammatory eye conditions where pain and swelling must be controlled.
Use only under ophthalmologist supervision. Do not wear contact lenses while using the drops unless advised. Inform your doctor if you have a history of eye disorders or allergies to NSAIDs. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination.
Store at a temperature below 25°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Discard the bottle 4 weeks after opening or as instructed by your doctor.
