Fibromiss 25 Tablet contains Mifepristone, a selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM) that exerts anti-progestational effects by competitively binding to progesterone receptors. At the 25 mg dose, Mifepristone is primarily used for the medical management of uterine fibroids to reduce their size, alleviate symptoms like heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and pressure symptoms, and help improve quality of life in women with symptomatic leiomyomas. Mifepristone works by blocking progesterone’s action on uterine tissue, leading to shrinkage of fibroids and endometrial thinning. Unlike the high-dose Mifepristone used in medical termination of pregnancy, Fibromiss 25 Tablet is designed for long-term, low-dose therapy with a favorable safety profile.

About the Product

Common side effects include mild nausea, headache, abdominal pain, fatigue, and hot flashes. Menstrual irregularities or amenorrhea (absence of periods) can occur during treatment due to the hormonal action. Less commonly, endometrial changes, reversible liver enzyme elevations, or mild weight gain may be observed. Rare adverse effects include hypersensitivity reactions and significant endometrial thickening with prolonged unsupervised use.

Fibromiss 25 Tablet is indicated for the treatment of uterine fibroids (leiomyomas) in premenopausal women, particularly in cases with menorrhagia (heavy bleeding), dysmenorrhea, or pelvic discomfort. It may also be used in certain gynecological conditions under specialist supervision.

Fibromiss 25 Tablet should be used strictly under the supervision of a gynecologist. It is not intended for pregnancy termination at this dose and must not be used in pregnant women, as it can harm the fetus. Regular ultrasound monitoring of fibroid size and endometrial thickness is recommended during therapy. Caution is advised in patients with liver disorders, bleeding abnormalities, or long-term unopposed estrogen therapy. It should not be used by women seeking conception during treatment. Once the medication is stopped, normal menstruation usually resumes within a few months. Alcohol and self-medication should be avoided, and any unusual bleeding or severe abdominal pain should be reported to the physician immediately.
