Imihype 1MG Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination containing Imipenem, a carbapenem-class antibacterial, and Cilastatin, a renal dehydropeptidase-I enzyme inhibitor. Imipenem works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against a wide range of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria. Cilastatin is co-administered to inhibit the renal enzyme that would otherwise inactivate Imipenem in the kidneys, thereby increasing its plasma concentration and therapeutic effectiveness. This combination is widely used in severe, life-threatening, and hospital-acquired infections where other antibiotics may be ineffective. Its potent, broad-spectrum coverage makes it particularly valuable in treating mixed infections and resistant bacterial strains.

About the Product

Its potent, broad-spectrum coverage makes it particularly valuable in treating mixed infections and resistant bacterial strains.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and injection-site reactions such as redness or pain. Some patients may experience headache, rash, or mild fever. Rare but serious adverse effects include seizures (especially in patients with CNS disorders), severe allergic reactions, low blood pressure, and altered liver or kidney function. Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea can occur with prolonged use of broad-spectrum antibiotics.

Imihype 1MG Injection is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, including lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, gynecological infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, bone and joint infections, and endocarditis. It is also used for hospital-acquired infections and mixed polymicrobial infections.

Imihype 1MG Injection should only be administered under medical supervision, usually in a hospital setting. Dosage adjustment is necessary in patients with kidney impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to carbapenems or beta-lactam antibiotics. Caution is advised in patients with a history of seizures or CNS disorders. This medication is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary and prescribed by a physician. Antibiotic therapy should be continued for the full course as advised to prevent antibiotic resistance. Do not self-administer or stop treatment abruptly without consulting your doctor.

Store Imitem 1MG Injection below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Reconstituted solution should be used immediately or as per manufacturer’s guidelines. Keep out of reach of children and do not use beyond the expiry date mentioned on the vial.
