Fucoziff Infusion is a sterile intravenous formulation combining Fluconazole 200 mg, a potent antifungal agent, with Sodium Chloride 0.9% w/v, serving as the diluent and electrolyte base. Fluconazole belongs to the triazole class of antifungals and works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to cell membrane damage and death of the fungus. The infusion form ensures rapid and effective systemic absorption, making it suitable for moderate to severe systemic fungal infections, particularly in hospitalized patients.

Commonly reported side effects include nausea, headache, abdominal discomfort, and rash. Rare but serious effects may include hepatotoxicity, QT prolongation, and hypersensitivity reactions. Liver function and cardiac status should be monitored during prolonged therapy.

Fucoziff Infusion is indicated for the treatment of systemic and severe fungal infections, including candidemia, disseminated candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis, and fungal infections in immunocompromised patients such as those undergoing chemotherapy or organ transplantation. It is also used as a prophylactic antifungal in patients at high risk of fungal infections.

Fucoziff Infusion should be administered only under medical supervision. Dosage adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Ensure adequate hydration and monitor for infusion site reactions. Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or other azoles.
