Fluxacillin Dry Syrup contains Flucloxacillin Sodium IP 125 mg, a penicillin-class, narrow-spectrum antibiotic effective primarily against gram-positive bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial lysis and death. Flucloxacillin is especially known for its resistance to β-lactamase enzymes, making it useful in treating infections caused by β-lactamase-producing staphylococci.
