It works by selectively blocking dopamine D2 and D3 receptors, which helps regulate dopamine levels in the brain, reducing symptoms of psychosis while also improving mood and cognitive function.
Amisulpride is effective in treating both positive symptoms (such as hallucinations, delusions, and thought disorders) and negative symptoms (such as lack of motivation, emotional withdrawal, and social isolation) of schizophrenia. It has a unique mechanism of action, acting as a dopamine agonist at low doses and a dopamine antagonist at higher doses, making it useful in different stages of mental health disorders.
Sulpide 200 Tablet is also prescribed for the treatment of dysthymia (persistent depressive disorder) and certain mood disorders.
